Scott Wallace updated SQ-66:
Fix Version: someday
It remains true that it would be desirable for one or more tools allowing loading of packages available in the forms used by regular Squeak developers (using Squeaks originating from squeak.org) -- i.e. SqueakMap, Monticello, Universes, or some such -- to be present in the etoys image. Once this were available, package maintainers could publish versions of packages approved by them for the etoys image, etc.
I'm marking the fix-version as 'someday' at this time only to indicate that while it would be nice, it's not on a critcial path and does not have much direct educational importance.

> TRAC #4799 SqueakMap Package Loader (Luke Gorrie)
> The SqueakMap package loader isn't working with the etoys-dev-2.2 image (or earlier recent versions that I tried). To reproduce: 1. Run 'WorldMenu->SqueakMap Package Loader' 2. Say yes to the dialogues (mandatory upgrade of SqueakMap, install of Monticello) The debugger will open before SqueakMap can be successfully upgraded.
> This is a problem for me because I'd like to use SqueakMap to install add-on packages for my development image. I'm not sure whether enough packages available in SqueakMap are compatible with the XO image to make this worthwhile though.
> (Bert) The attached log is a simple Monticello bug, has nothing much to do with our image - it needs to be bullet-proofed. It is indeed important for Squeak developers, though irrelevant for Etoys users.
